Archives For November 30, 1999

So despite the vast array of products that we have quite literally at our fingertips here at thebeautyobsession, we still get tempted by pretty things for our fingertips (get it?!). One such temptation that we couldn’t resist was this gorgeous Ciate Caviar Mini Bar.With four miniature varnishes (Knickerbockerglory, Pom Pom, Fit for a Queen & Sand Dune) and four bottles of caviar pearls (Prom Queen, Jubilee, Hologram & Candyshop)  in different colours, we fell in love at first sight!

The varnishes are easy to apply, two coats is enough for an even finish, and then pouring over the caviar pearls is a lot simpler than it looks. If you ensure you keep a tray or pot underneath, you can quickly pour the pearls back into the bottle with the caviar funnel that comes with the kit to ensure there’s no wastage.

For this look we used Fit for a Queen polish and Hologram caviar pearls. We think it fits in well with the Ice Queen/Frost trend around this season. Surprisingly the pearls feel quite secure – just make sure you don’t pick at them! We think the Caviar Mini Bar would make a great Christmas present – that is if you’re nicer than we are and can bear to give it away!

You can buy from the Ciate site and they helpfully give you full instructions on how to create the look yourself. Hurry, if you sign up for their newsletter, you’ll get 10% off your order! You can also order from ASOS, with free delivery & returns here!

Now, some trends are quirkier than others, and the 3D nail crazy that’s everywhere at the moment, could definitely fall into that category.
Still never let it be said that we’re one to miss out on a beauty bandwagon! We decided to jump on and gave MUA’s new Nail Constellations a try. You can see our final result in our earlier photo.
We were going to write a tutorial to show you how to do it yourself, but those lovely people at MUA have already done it for us – enjoy!

Nail Trend - 3D Frenzy

This is the outcome of our first attempt with MUA’s Nail Constellations. What do you think?
It’s not a look we’d sport every day, but it is something a bit fun and different. They’d definitely make great stocking gifts at only £3.
We think we need a bit more practice, so look out for the How to Guide by MUA themselves!
