So this isn’t beauty or fashion related really, but we suppose we can loosely link it to Lifestyle! Wednesdays are going to be known as #WeLoveWeds from now on, with a focus on things we’re really loving at the moment, and as this is our little corner of the internet, we can make it anything at all!
If you haven’t seen it yet, give this a watch, but ladies have your tissues at the ready, and gents be prepared to pick up the gauntlet – this is probably the best wedding speech we’ve ever heard!
What do you think? Please share it on twitter and help it go viral!

We haven’t bought our 2013 diary yet. We actually take diary buying quite seriously – it will stay with you for the whole year remember! As every year seems to get busier, we’ve gone from the smallest, slimmest diary we can get away with to having to cart around half our lives with us!

We’ve fallen in love with this Temperley for Filofax, not only because even the pocket version looks like it could hold most of the bumph we carry around, but because it is seriously stylish. Made of Italian calf leather and in our favourite shade, this is a 2013 must have.

Make Up Your Faces

Here at thebeautyobsession we love anything that helps us bring out our creative side, and of course we love all things makeup! That’s why we love these new face charts from one of our favourite professional makeup artists; Karla Powell.

Made from high quality textured paper, you can actually apply products straight to the sheet to get a more realistic effect. Presented in a professional leather-look folder, they’re available in A4 size, but we really like the handy A5 size that we can pop into our handbag for moments of inspiration.

We think these would be brilliant for any budding MUA’s out there, or the fully-fledged professionals who want to try a different brand. They’d even be great for bloggers who don’t like taking pics of their own faces for makeup posts – just photograph these and pop them up! We think you’ll be seeing these on thebeautyobsession.com very soon!

To find out more, take a look at KarlaPowell.co.uk

Anyone else looking in the mirror and seeing their tired, red eyes looking back at them? Sporting some impressive dark circles? Well, so are we! 2012 was the year of the late night, and we can definitely see it in our eyes.

Even when we’re not burning the candle at both ends, hours of staring at computer screens, late nights and dry eyes, has meant we will bite the hand off of anyone who has a product that may help soothe our poor peepers!

Using eye drops does often help (buy proper opthalmic grade ones, not the cheapies for best results) but when we were sent these eyeSlices, we couldn’t wait to try them out. The best way to describe them in our opinion, is synthetic cucumber slices for the eyes! We’ve all heard how cool cucumber slices can reduce puffiness and help with dryness, but imagine them being reusable and infused with active ingredients to specifically target those pesky eye issues. That is essentially what eyeSlices are.

Made of cryogel polymer, these little slices feel similar to jelly. We wouldn’t describe them as slimy, but they are a little bit wet, especially on first use. You remove them from the sealed packets for the first use and then can apply them straight to your eyes. The beauty is, you don’t need to refrigerate them before use, they’re cool straight from the pack. You can use each pair up to 10 times and they have a two week shelf life before they need to be binned. They come in a cute case for storage, which is really good for popping in your handbag so you can use them when you’re out and about – only if you haven’t got eye makeup on though!

We used our pair a number of times, both straight from the pot and after having popped them in the fridge, and we absolutely love them! They’re so soothing, it’s like an immediate aaaahhhhhh! They adhere quite easily to the skin so you don’t have to worry about them slipping off.

After you remove them they leave a very slight residue, so rinse your face before applying any creams or makeup. Our eyes felt refreshed and less red and dry with each use. We think they’re great for popping on after a day at work, or as part of your going out routine.

There are four different types of eyeSlices; HappyEyes, LegendaryEyes, InVogueEyes, LegendaryEyes, all targeting different areas. A pack, including the clam shell case, is priced at £13 here.

Quite pricey for a cucumber replacement, but remember, they last for up to two weeks and can be used 10 times. We would suggest you look at them as more of a replacement or enhancement for your eye cream, as these will probably have more effect!

Let us know if you have any other wonder products for tired, dry and red eyes. We’ll love you forever!

Christmas started off with a good night out with the girls.

Wearing a slick of black liquid liner and bright red lips with our Velvetine from Lime Crime!

What do you think?

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a few of the traditional decorations that have been around for years!

  We know it’s a tad Circa 1970,

but we love Snowballs!

It doesn’t feel like Christmas

until we’ve had the first one of the year!

Of course Christmas is all about spending quality time with loved ones, and this year we felt that more than ever, but we were lucky enough to get a few lovely gifts too! Here are some of our favourites:

Love these shoe & handbag chocs, very us! The Toasted Marshmallow scented candle from Jelly Bean smells delicious…

We’re starting to get the feeling that we pong a bit,

as these were just one set of smellies

that we got this year!

You can’t go wrong with a bit of colour,

and we love all of these W7 nail polishes!

Has anyone used W7 before?

What did you think?

This Rose and Silver bracelet is one of our favourites, we love anything sparkly and the rose gold complements our Marc Jacobs watch!

This Logik Ultra Thin Keyboard Case for the iPad is actually a godsend! It will make writing pieces for thebeautyobsession so much easier without having to boot up the laptop!

We got a few Nip & Fab goodies,

these lip balms smell lovely.

 Has anyone tried them before?

We’ve been after a glass nail file for ages,

so Santa came up trumps with this crystal

one from Leighton Denny!

The present that made us cry award goes to this Sister picture frame, with photos from childhood to the present day! Really love this one!

There was lots and lots of food!

In fact how much cheese do four people need?

Well, this much it appears!

If anyone else loves Marmite,

you’ll appreciate this gift.

If you hate it, you won’t!

We ended Christmas day at about 1.30am in the garden looking at a spectacular Lunar Halo. Did anyone else see it? Apparently they’re more common that you’d think, but we thought it was amazing and as it’s the first time we’ve ever seen one, we’re taking it as a good omen for things to come!

We’d love to see links to your Christmas posts, please leave them in the comments box so we can go and have a nose!

Although Christmas is now technically over, you can win yourself some more great prizes by entering our December Beauty Box Giveaway and our Cheer Up January £50 ASOS Voucher Giveaway
