H&M Je T'aimeThis look is the second of our H&M polish posts today, check out our GoldFinger post from this morning to find out more about the gold polish used on our accent nail. Everything we said about the packaging not being appealing is the same, but thankfully, so is everything about the great quality of their polishes. This sparkling red is called Je T’aime and was the bank-breaking price of £1.50!

The red is slightly darker than it appears in the photo and the underlying sparkle is made up of tiny metallic gold particles. It applies smoothly to a high shine and it lasts very well. It’s ideal for any Christmas nail looks you want to rock this season.

Again, another great polish from H&M. We can’t wait to try some more of their cosmetics range now!

#NailTrend – GoldFinger

H&M Gold PolishWe’ve found a new range of nail polishes that we love, and we’re surprised to say, they’re from H&M! We love H&M for their clothes and accessories, but we have to admit, their cosmetics range isn’t presented in a way that would usually appeal to us. The packaging and branding looks quite cheap if we’re honest, and the way it’s laid out in store makes us think its supposed to appeal to their large “younger” demographic. However, as well as looking cheap, they actually are! We picked up this gold polish in a pack of two, the other being a gold glitter, for the princely sum of £2.95.

As you can see from the pic, we’re going to have to apologise unreservedly, as this gold is gorgeous. It is really opaque and two coats creates a great finish. It looks almost like gold leaf it has such a highly metallic effect. It goes on smoothly and isn’t at all tacky or streaky, and dries fairly quickly. All in all we can’t get enough of this polish, especially over the Christmas party season.

Watch out for another H&M polish surprise this afternoon! Have you tried any other H&M cosmetics? We’re thinking of trying some of the eyeshadows next…

Nail Trend – Frames

November 27, 2012 — Leave a comment

Framed nails are a relatively new trend, which we think look great, and what’s even better, is how easy they are to do yourself!

First we painted our nails with two coats of this deep plum shade from Betty Jackson at Debenhams. It’s best to try and get as close to the cuticle as possible for the framed effect. Once those coats were completely dry, we used this amazing Glam Gold from H&M, which applies brilliantly, to fill out the centre of the nail and leave a “frame” around the edge.

We then finished with a top coat for extra shine and durability.

This is a super quick look to add a up-to-date twist to your look with minimal effort. All you need are two contrasting polishes and you’re good to go!
